Alfred A. Bartolucci Endowed Scholarship in Biostatistics Endowment
The Alfred A. Bartolucci Endowed Scholarship in Biostatistics was established to provide support to deserving students in the Department of Biostatistics in the UAB School of Public Health while honoring Dr. Alfred A. Bartolucci for his service to UAB and significant contributions to the field of biostatistics. Dr. Bartolucci was named Professor Emeritus and retired in 2012 after dedicating 35 years to UAB. During Dr. Bartolucci’s tenure at UAB, he was instrumental in the growth of the Department of Biostatistics to its current status as an internationally recognized research powerhouse. Dr. Bartolucci served in many roles at UAB including research scientist, author, educator, and administrator. It is most fitting that this endowment pays tribute to Dr. Bartolucci’s exemplary leadership, collaborative achievements, and devotion to UAB. This scholarship allows Dr. Bartolucci’s legacy of excellence to continue through the countless students who are able to set aside their financial concerns in order to focus on their educational and career goals.
